Change is forever happening around us, there doesn't seem to be much doubt about that. For example, take a glance around Leaside and it is notably different than just five years ago and I’m sure it will be much different again in another five. My grandfather George Laird began serving the Leaside community as an oil heating man in the late forties. With humble beginnings he worked out of the basement of his home on MacNaughton Rd. I believe he bought his home for about the same price as a new high end furnace costs today. “How bout that !” He really believed in customer service and probably went out many nights to get the heat on for some of your grandparents. Good old customer service.

George Laird & Company grew and became Laird and Son Heating with my father Ray joining in the family business and later taking the helm. I followed in my father’s footsteps and now my son has begun his career also at Laird and Son apprenticing as a gas fitter and oil burner mechanic. We gained an excellent reputation in Leaside and the surrounding area but one thing has remained unchanged, our attitude toward our customers. That is because we’re still just a family-to-family business at heart; our family looking after yours. For three generations the community has grown to trust and rely upon our experience, continuity of ownership and a sincere effort to please customers.

Laird and Son Heating and Air Conditioning are committed to environmental responsibility.  We are registered with the Cool Savings program (coolsavingrebate.com) and work with the Federal and Provincial governments in promoting the Ecoenergy program (energypublications.gc.ca).  These programs provide generous rebates for increasing the energy efficiency of your homes.  Laird and Son also are recycling mercury bulb thermostats thorough the Change the Stat program.  This eliminates the disposing of hazardous mercury in landfill sites.  Our installers and service personnel are rigidly trained in the reclaiming and installation of refrigerants.  No refrigerants are released in to the atmosphere and the strictest guidelines are followed.  When we remove a furnace or boiler or air conditioner from your home all steel, aluminum and copper are taken to recycling depots.  We do not leave it to you to dispose of your old equipment.  We even recycle the cardboard in which the new units are packaged.  Trust Laird and Son for your environmental future.
